CommentThese drawings are relevant for offshore facilities and for the process plant and well pad area for onshore facilities.

At least one equipment layout drawing for each area or module deck level shall be produced. The size of the facility will determine the scale of the drawing, but normally a scale of 1:100 on A3 format shall be aimed for. If required several drawings per area can be necessary to achieve this scale. Equipment, which is covered by platforms above, shall be shown dotted or shown in separate figures.

The following content shall be included on the drawings:

  • Platform/plant northing and orientation with respect of true north;
  • Gridlines with north and east references;
  • Key plan;
  • Scale bar;
  • Match lines with drawing references;
  • Deck/area elevations;
  • Area segregation, with fire partitions indicated;
  • Maintenance/withdrawal areas for main components (compressor bundles, cooler internals, etc.);
  • Laydown areas;
  • Waste sorting stations;
  • Pipe racks;
  • Stairs, access and escape routes;
  • Material handling routes;
  • Manifold area arrangement;
  • Well head area, with number of wells and distance between wells indicated;
  • Drilling derrick extreme outlines indicated;
  • Location of temporary well intervention equipment;
  • Flare tower location and extreme outlines indicated;
  • HVAC, instrument and electrical rooms (relevant for offshore facility);
  • Control room (relevant for offshore facility);
  • Living Quarter outline. Reference to relevant Architectural layout drawings shall be included;
  • Main structures;
  • Location of all equipment as identified in MEL including identification of datum point;
  • Equipment shall be tagged according to MEL. An equipment index shall be included on the drawing. Datum point coordinates shall be included in this index;
  • Safety evacuation equipment, such as escape tunnels, lifeboats, escape chutes, etc. (relevant for offshore facility);
  • Hose loading station and tote tank area (relevant for offshore facility);
  • Utility stations;
  • Space allocation for risers, J-tubes and umbilicals including temporary equipment (pulling arrangement). (relevant for offshore facility);
  • Space for future areas/modules/equipment.
