Comment | Piping and Instrument Diagram (P&ID) includes the complete set of P&IDs, typicals and legends. Equipment supplier's drafting standard shall be used. Symbols used shall be described by a symbol legend on the P&ID, or as a separate document/drawing/P&ID sheet. All connections external to the supply shall be shown on the P&ID, marked with a unique number (N1, N2, etc.). Reference to the interfacing external P&IDs should also be given. All interface signals to and from the plant’s safety and automation systems shall be shown with reference to the interfacing external P&IDs. Control and monitoring functions shall be drawn on the P&ID, this also applies for control panel locally within the supply. Identical parallel items or systems shall be drawn in full detail, i.e. typical drawings with associated tag number tables are not acceptable. Unique plant tags shall be used as assigned by the engineering contractor. Supplier’s internal tag numbers shall be shown in addition where required for use of supplier’s standard documentation, preferably by use of tables on the P&ID/separate P&ID sheet, linking unique plant tag with supplier’s internal tag. |
