Comment | A fire protection datasheet shall be produced for each of the defined fire detection areas. The fire protection data sheets shall include the following main information elements: - Key characteristics of area barriers:
- Area classification references (zone 1, zone 2, non-hazardous by location, non-hazardous by ventilation);
- Ventilation of the area (natural, mechanical, overpressure, underpressure);
- Occupancy (permanent, intermittent, normally none, none);
- Construction of walls/floors/ceiling (none, wind shield, heat shield, steel walls, fire partitions with fire rating, explosion panels, suspended ceiling, false floor);
- Hazards in the area (e.g. crude oil, toxic gas, chemicals, fuel oil, electrical, radioactive, etc.);
- Type of fire and gas detection in the area;
- Type of fire protection with application design rates;
- Basis for fire and gas detection design and fire protection:
- A listing of main equipment of the area which governs the fire and gas detection selection and location;
- A description of the basis for the selection of particular type and position of detectors including manual call points. This is an area specific detailing of the general fire and gas logic;
- A reference of area fire extinguishing facilities;
- Fire and Gas Cause & Effect:
- This part shall be according to Cause & Effect requirements addressing the specific fire and gas detection logic including means for fire extinguishing control and monitoring and other specific output actions;
- The C&E sheet shall include a listing of all area tag numbers, i.e., fire and gas detectors and output devices.
