Comment | PFDs shall be prepared for drilling systems, main process (production, injection and export) systems, process support and utility systems and safety systems, including subsea parts of the systems (if any). For systems with significantly different operating modes/phases, separate PFDs shall be prepared for each mode/phase. Process equipment shall be shown schematically on the PFDs with equipment tag numbers and operating pressure and temperature. Equipment name, sparing (for parallel equipment) and main equipment operating/characteristic data (e.g. operating duty for a compressor) shall be included. Process streams to/from the process equipment essential for understanding the operating principle and the heat and material balance shall be included on the PFDs with a stream number. Stream data describing the process fluid flow shall be included in a table on the PFD or on a separate drawing/sheet referred from the PFD. Control loops shall be shown schematically on the PFDs, including utility streams where these are a part of the control loops. |
NORSOK Z-001 rationale | The symbols used for the PFDs shall be explained by a legend which shall be a part of the total PFD set. The PFDs shall use the coding and numbering standard in ENS, and the plant legend and drawing standard in accordance with NORSOK Z-005. Norsok S-001 "Technical safety" |
