CommentThe drawings shall be prepared in accordance with the requirements below.

There shall be sufficient main equipment on the drawing to easily identify the location of the equipment in question. Safety layout drawings should as far as possible use the same basis/background as other layout drawings. All equipment listed below shall be identified by:

  • Tag code;
  • Approximate dimension and geometrical form of tag.

The following safety arrangement drawings and diagrams shall be produced as follows:

  • Escape route drawings; shall include:
    • Primary escape routes with arrows indicating escape direction;
    • Secondary escape routes with direction;
    • Muster and embarkment areas;
    • Evacuation means (e.g.: lifeboats, escape chutes and rafts);
    • Areas for first aid treatment;
  • Safety equipment layout:
    • First aid equipment;
    • Safety equipment (e.g.: life jackets, life buoys, rescue equipment, MOB boat);
    • Emergency showers;
    • Emergency phones;
  • Safety sign layout:
    • Location of signs;
    • Signpost schedule including fixing details for signposts and signs;
  • Active fire protection equipment layout:
    • Location of active fire protection units (e.g. deluge, sprinkler, foam, gaseous units);
    • Manual firefighting equipment (e.g.: hydrants, hose reels, extinguishers);
    • Monitor;
  • Passive fire protection and blast protection:
    • Location of fire divisions (fire walls, deck segregation) including size and direction of dimensioning load;
    • Location of explosion resistant walls including size and direction of dimensioning load;
    • Location of explosion overpressure ventilation outlet;
  • Fire and gas detection layout:
    • Fire and gas detectors with elevation and in addition direction of view including angle up/down for flame detectors;
    • Manual Call buttons;
    • Manual active fire protection release buttons;
