NORSOK Z-001 rationale | System documents:
The objective of the System documents is to describe the systems at a plant for learning purpose. The System document is a compilation of technical information (LCI), functional descriptions, reason for choice of design and describes the System characteristics, regulate how to operate and protect the System in various conditions. This shall apply to all disciplines within all systems. The System documents (S-documents) apply for all systems, subsystems and assemblies. One document shall be produced for each system. The main target group for System documents are mainly operational and maintenance personnel at a plant. The System documents shall be produced in local language. Operation documents: The objective of the operating documents is to describe how to operate a system and its equipment in a safe, reliable and effective way. Operation documents (O-documents) apply for all systems, subsystems and assemblies. One Main Operating document shall be produced for each system. The "Main Operating document "shall contain a compilation (links to detailed O-documents) of operating procedures according to the index structure shown below. The operating documents (check lists or operating rules) are formed as action points in tables. The black start operating documents shall describe the complete sequence starting with "black" installation and ending with main power established. All involved auxiliary systems shall be included and each document shall be related to the Main operating document for each system. The initial scenario shall be APS for offshore installations (Abandon Platform Shutdown) or Plant evacuation for onshore plants e.g. after a gas leakage, where gas may have entered non-hazardous areas and rooms. The two alternatives: Black start of emergency power /Essential power and black start of UPS shall be described. In case of cable from shore or other independent unit, such as a national grid, and this power is used as a source of emergency power, this alternative method of black start shall also be described. All Operating documents related to Black start shall be provided with a unique Node number. The main target group for Operational document is mainly operational personnel at a plant. |
