MS Office usage

In these sections, we show how the PLM RDL can be put to use in regular office documents. The main idea is to reduce ambiguity by making direct reference to a shared, web accessible vocabulary. In addition, we show how tabular content can be extracted from the RDL, and put to use for tasks like mapping or translating between sources of information.

We focus on Microsoft desktop software, but the general approach should easily apply to products from other vendors as well, including specialist applications.

The methods described here are mostly generic, and will work for any other online RDLs as well.
