| NORSOK Z-001 rationale | System Control Diagram shall be used to specify and document process control and process shutdown application within the control systems. The method consists in principle of two parts. (1) Use of a defined set of function blocks, and (2) a diagram representation of usage of these function blocks and its interconnections. The diagram has a presentation of the process as background. The content of multiple P&ID’s is simplified and combined into the SCD’s as the control and shutdown logic is laid out there. System Control Diagrams shall be in accordance with the standard referred to in IEC 63131. The SCD standard also covers sequential control. |
